Transatlantic ties are going local. The new American-German State Legislators Council brings U.S. and German lawmakers together to strengthen cooperation - state by state.

 

With the newly established American-German State Legislators Council (AGSLC), German and U.S. state legislators are strengthening transatlantic ties at the regional level. In this video interview, South Carolina State Senator Jeff Zell, one of the initiative’s founders, explains why this cooperation matters and what the council aims to achieve.

About Jeff Zell

Jeff Zell is a Republican member of the South Carolina Senate, representing the 36th District. He took office in January 2025 and currently serves on several Senate committees, including the Judiciary Committee and the Family and Veterans’ Services Committee. Before entering the Senate, Zell served as a trustee on the Sumter School District Board. He is a retired U.S. Air Force Master Sergeant, having served from 2002 to 2022.
